Internationals Vs. TCK
We played the Third Cultural Kids ( students who grew up in a country different from their parents’ homeland).
The game was friendly and lots of fun…...It was also full of goals; actually I can’t even remember the count…I just know we won!!:-)

Kappa vs Freshmen: 1-0
The freshmen team is one of the best team in this intramural soccer season. They beat Delta, the all-sports number one leading club.
So we went playing with them tonight knowing that it wasn’t going to be an easy game. We opted for an offensive game and attacked from the start of the game. They were solid defensively though and we were only able to score one goal with a few hits on the post.
Go Kappa.
Alex…Joyeux anniversaire!!
Today was my good friend Alex’s birthday. We surprised him with a party and cake at the lake. Tracy had to pretend he needed help with the stuff he was going to get at Walmart, so he asked Alex to go with him. This gave us the chance to decorate the room and get the cake out.
When they got back, everyone, gathered and waiting in the kitchen, sang for Alex. He didn’t see it coming!!
Happy birthday Alex.
Break at the lake!
This break was amazing.
My friends and I went and stayed at this lake house in TX and pretty much hang out the whole time. We would sleep in, play videogames, watch movies and swim in the lake.
It was a good opportunity to rest and get ready for the last and probably most stressful part of the semester….lol
spring break
Spring break is around the corner.
This time, my friends and I decided to go down in Brownwood. This won’t be our first time there; last fall break we were down there and had so much of a good time that we decided to go back this break.
And, we are taking our swim suits…...hoping the weather will be nice

Soccer tryouts
This afternoon, I went to the soccer tryouts for my club, Kappa.
Surprisingly, many people showed up. There were a bunch of good people and the rest were pretty decent. We went over a couple of drills and then played in teams.
Coach said he will let us know who is on the starting team sometime soon.
Our team has a number of decent players, so I think we are going to do good in the intramural games…..we will do our best anyways!
The game of the year!
We played St. Gregory’s today in the nest.
It was a pretty close match as no team was really up by a lot of points. Things started getting a little scary as we were hitting the last minute.
St. Gregory’s scored a basket and were up by two, leaving all of us fans frustrated about the idea of losing. Our coach called a time out and pulled out his secret book….(haha…...may be not)
He drew some stuff on his board and showed the team a game that they must have never practiced. They came back on the court, got the ball and St. Gregory’s committed a fault to keep them from scoring and kill the time. We only had 13 seconds left. After the time out, they came back, passed quickly the ball to our guard, Jeff, who shot from half the court and scored a three pointer, that sent us all in the air. At this point, everyone was on the court, screaming and celebrating with the players.
The hero of the night: Jeff Crocker!
Hit it Paci!
Today was Pacifique’s birthday party.
We all went to his party, which was awesome. We had pizzas and drinks, hang out and played some games. Then the moment of the Pinata came. It was hilarious!
Paci, with his eyes covered, was trying to hit the pinata and everytime he would miss because it was either pulled up or pushed down so he could miss! You might think that’s mean, but that’s the point of the game. It’s fun when the person misses and keeps swinging the bat and trying to hit the pinata.
Finally, he got it. He was so releaved! ![]()
Still a fan
New England Patriots lost the Superbowl tonight.
Despite the sadness and the disappointment and all the talk that followed the game in our dorm, I have to say I still like the Patriots. I can’t help but think about their almost perfect season, 18 and 1. One more game and they would have finished the season undefeated!!
I also have to say that the Giants deserve their title, they put up a good game and were the better team tonight.
One thing to the Giants though: WATCH OUT FOR THE PATRIOTS NEXT SEASON!!
Worship night
Tonight, my friends and I had a Rwandan/Kenyan worship night.
Last year, I wasn’t able to attend it, but this time I made sure not to miss the fun. To use the words of Sam, “it was hot”!!!
Rwandan and Kenyan praise songs, Nathalie beating the drums and Sam on the piano…......what a delight!!
Busy week
Every end of the month is very busy for any college student, but this week was particularly busy for me.
I had tests for all my classes, labs and a paper due. Yep, life in college is not all about the fun, the hanging out with friends and stuff, it now and then gets serious too…..![]()
The tests weren’t that bad though, we did pretty good on them!
Daniel’s visit
My friend Daniel came up this weekend. He is pretty funny and his stay was more than wonderful.
He left notes for Alex, who was down in Norman. Check where he left the notes….hahahah

The most devastating game
Tonight, the Eagles hosted South Nazarene in one of those big rivalry games.
The eagles dominated the first half, winning the game in all aspects. In the second half, they kept winning and were up by a big number of points until everything collapsed. South Nazarene started scoring points and towards the end of the game, the eagles were only up by three points.
Then, the most devastating and most feared thing happened. South Nazarene equalized in the last second with a three pointer shot by one of their best players. The match was then going to be decided through over time which the Eagles lost to the big disappointment and devastation of all of us fans.
We still have confidence in our team though…........and can’t wait for future games!!
Mr. Watson
Mr. Watson was my teacher in Digital last semester and so far is my favorite professor.
He was very patient with the students and knew how to explain the material clearly. He had this thing that when he was in class, you felt like learning ![]()
He is pretty smart too! Before coming to teach at OC, he worked for Texas Instruments where among other things, he was on the team led by Jack Kilby that invented the first integrated circuit!
