Bio: Dr. Matt McCook studies and presents on American religions and intellectual history, the second Great Awakening, and religion in the early American republic. He received the ACU Student Teacher of the Year award in 1995. Dr. McCook has a secondary education certification from Texas. He is in the American Society of Church History, Organization of American Historians, and the Society of History Education. He enjoys playing guitar, golf, and basketball. He and his wife Alyssa have two children: Collin and Katie. Dr. McCook is a deacon, and a Bible class teacher at Memorial Road Church of Christ.
