Dr. Bob CarpenterTitle: Professor of Ministry and MissionsHometown: Houston, TX Email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) Degrees: B.A. in History and Certificate in Latin American Studies, Princeton University M.A in Latin American Studies, Stanford University Masters in Missiology, Abilene Christian University Ph.D in Religious Studies, University of California, Santa Barbara Bio: "I work at OC", says Dr. Bob Carpenter, Professor of Ministry and Missions, "because I want to help prepare fellow Christians (both students and non-students) to be more effective in reaching non-Christians with the gospel of Christ through a variety of means. I also hope to be a part of the caring outreach to non-Christians here on campus." Dr. Carpenter is a member of the American Academy of Religion and a sponsor for Outreach and campus coordinator for Let's Start Talking. Dr. Carpenter shows research interests in Missions, particularly in Latin America and the 10/40 window as well as World Religions, particularly Islam and Latin American Religions and also shows expertise in Religion in Latin America Alternative Spirituality (New Age, non-religious movements) Missions. Dr. Carpenter is a member of the Memorial Road Church of Christ, and is involved in several church activities including, Deacon, member of Missions and Ministry and International Ministry. Dr. Bob Carpenter's best OC memory is, "Listening to OU professor Dr. Charles Kimball relate his personal history of involvement with interfaith dialog in the Middle East with a small group of students and faculty who were involved in the OSLEP course "Islam and the west since 9/11." That took place here on OC Campus in October of 2009." |
