“Thy Word is Truth” Website Attracts Thousands

by Stafford North

Somehow, who knows how these days, I got on the email list for Creation Revolution, a website that publishes articles in support of God as creator and against evolution.  One day, when glancing through that site I saw a link to “church of Christ” and clicked on it.  I then found myself on the website for “ThyWordIsTruth.com,” developed and supported by Eric Hall.  He is a member of the Katy Church of Christ in Katy, Texas, just west of Houston.  Hall, a former professor of electrical engineering, now works as a patent attorney in Houston.

Hall started this website about ten years ago and uses primarily material from himself and his father, Jess Hall, Jr. who is a preacher and a member of Board of Trustees for Faulkner University.  The website contains thousands of pages of notes on Bible topics and hundreds of hours of audio and video.

But how did the site get mentioned on the Creation Revolution page.  Hall pays Google a monthly fee to place ads in their “search results,” and to put them on other websites.  Apparently this is how the link appeared on Creation Revolution.  He says he also pays to place ads through the Yahoo-Microsoft ad program.  Such ideas might be helpful to others who have websites.

In 2010, the site had 263,801 views of their pages from 75,341 different visitors.  Ten percent of these came from outside the United States.  The goal for 2011 is to have 2,000 unique visitors each week or a total of 100,000 different visitors in the year, and they are currently on target for that number.

The site has good articles on “What is the church of Christ?,” “Worship in Song,” “Evolution,” “Baptism,” and many other topics.
