DAVID LYNN, Head Golf Coach
Greetings to everyone! The Oklahoma Christian University men’s golf team just returned from what is annually my favorite event of the year outside of the national tournament. We competed at Wichita CC in Wichita, Kansas, against a very strong field, easily the strongest field we will play all season. It included 13 NCAA D-I schools, Northeastern State and Oklahoma City University, plus schools like Kansas State, SMU, Texas-Arlington, Florida Gulf Coast, Denver, etc.
We split the field and finished eighth of 16. We didn’t play quite up to my expectations, however, we did have a good showing. We beat all other Oklahoma schools in the field. Bruno, Rhein and Fernando all finished in the top 25 under some good pressure. I got to see what we really need to work on to hopefully finish the season strong over the next six weeks. We will take three weeks to practice and play before going to our conference/regional tournament April 21-22 in Lubbock, Texas.
I am really excited about our College Am this Tuesday at Gaillardia. What an incredible facility; I think everyone involved will have an awesome experience! Thanks for your support!
