Dan says:Jim Bohannon's show on my way home. He has it in for bloggers.
It was the same old diatribe we get periodically from the dinosaur media. "They all refer to each other. There's no journalism in blogging, etc.."
Bohannon's guest was some conservative who wrote a book about the impending death of big media - I don't remember who it was. Ironic, huh?
A listener called in a complained about a lot about big media ignoring stories. One of his examples: Rachel Corrie, the American protestor who was killed in Gaza by an Israeli bulldozer driver. Neither Bohannon nor his guest had even heard of her. Of course, this story was all over the blogosphere - with nary a peep in the dinosaur media.
There's another huge story the mainstream media chooses to ignore, the unsettled situation in Iran - student protests, warped justice, political instability. The latest injustice, the execution of a 16 year-old girl. The blogosphere has it. The dinosaur media doesn't have time for it - they're too busy covering Paris Hilton's memoirs.
I'm so glad I we have the mainstream media to dig out the relevant stories and to keep us honest.
P.S. - We had the Corrie story as well.
