awesomely wrong kanji stencils I found at Hobby Lobby:

Aren’t they fabulous? Sure, a Japanese or Chinese person might recognize the “LOVE” character, but it seems kind of odd, like stenciling the word “LOVE” on things with the “E” backwards. The others are versions of wrong - just written badly, if I can be trusted to interpret. (I can’t. grin The last one, “eternity” does not mean “eternity” as far as I can tell. I’m not sure what it means, and I’m too lazy to look it up.

Here’s an excellent explanation of the problem with single-character or literal translation tattoos. (or stencils) Even if you get it right, you probably still didn’t get it right.
