The Oklahoma Christian Theatre Department will perform “Ozma of Oz,” a play for young audiences by Suzan Zeder loosely based upon characters from L. Frank Baum’s “Ozma of Oz.” The play will be held in Judd Theatre on Feb. 17th and 18th and Feb. 24th and 25th at 7:00 p.m. Also, matinee performances will be held on, Friday Feb. 17th and on Friday, Feb. 24th at 10:00 a.m.
The director of the play is Dr. Barrett Huddleston.
THE STORY: Dorothy Gale, long matured past her childhood adventures, reluctantly agrees to accompany her doddering uncle Henry on an excursion to Australia. During the journey, the pair is whisked back to the magical kingdom of Oz. In order to return to their homeland, Dorothy and Henry must first restore time itself to the enchanted land, overcoming vicious Wheelers and a ruthless volcanic, Gnome King. Zeder’s “tale of time” becomes metaphor for the generation gap between Dorothy and her uncle, a rift healed through mutual understanding and appreciation. (Suitable for all ages.)
