Oklahoma Community Orchestra Presents Third Concert
The Oklahoma Christian University Department of Music invites you to attend a concert by the Oklahoma Community Orchestra this Sunday, February 19, at 8:00 p.m. The concert will be presented in the Sharp Concert Hall at the University of Oklahoma’s Catlett Center in Norman. OC students, faculty, and staff will be admitted to the concert at no charge (with school ID). General admission tickets are $10 at the door, or $8 if purchased online at www.okorchestra.org.
This third concert of the OCO season, under the direction of Dr. John Fletcher, features the orchestra performing Mozart’s “Overture to The Magic Flute,” Chabrier’s “Espana Rhapsody,” the “Berceuse,” and Finale portions of Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite.” Guest performers are Dr. Irvin Wagner and the University of Oklahoma Trombone Choir. The Trombone Choir will perform classical and pops selections with the orchestra and will perform additional selections unaccompanied. For further information about the concert, please call the OC Music Department at 425-5530, or visit the OCO website at www.okorchestra.org.
The OCO is the “orchestra-in-residence” at Oklahoma Christian University. Several OC students, alumni, and faculty members perform in the orchestra. Support for this performance has been provided, in part, by the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
