Oklahoma Christian University Theatre Department Presents “The Golem.”

The Oklahoma Christian University Theatre Department will present the play, “The Golem” on Oct. 18, 19, and 20 at 8:00 p.m. in Judd Theatre.  This is the story of Rabbi Loew ben Bazalel who created an artificial avenger (known as the Golem) who protects the Jews of Prague from anti-Semitic programs that threaten their religious sanctity and very survival.  The play uses fantastic events to pose a serious religious question, “Which should the righteous value more—justice or salvation?”  The sacrifices undertaken by Rabbi Loew come at a tragic cost and serve as a caution to those that nurture revenge instead of grace.  The play is suitable for young people 12 years and older.

All tickets are “General Admission,” and the OC Box Office will open for ticket sales on Mondays through Fridays from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Call the Box Office at 425-5540 to order tickets using a major credit card.  Tickets cost $10.00 (except for senior citizens over 60 which may be purchased for $8.00).  Group prices (for school groups of 20 or more) are $8.00, and one sponsor per 20 students is free.  OC students, the OC faculty and staff and their immediate families are free (with a valid ID).  The cast members’ immediate family members may purchase tickets for $7.00.
