The Oklahoma Christian University Theatre Department will present the play, “The Golem” on Oct. 18, 19, and 20 at 8:00 p.m. in Judd Theatre. This is the story of Rabbi Loew ben Bazalel who created an artificial avenger (known as the Golem) who protects the Jews of Prague from anti-Semitic programs that threaten their religious sanctity and very survival. The play uses fantastic events to pose a serious religious question, “Which should the righteous value more—justice or salvation?” The sacrifices undertaken by Rabbi Loew come at a tragic cost and serve as a caution to those that nurture revenge instead of grace. The play is suitable for young people 12 years and older.
