The Oklahoma Christian University Department of Music invites you to attend the final concert of the 2011-2012 season by the Oklahoma Community Orchestra on Sunday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. in OC’s Hardeman Auditorium. Under the direction of Dr. John Fletcher, this concert will feature light classics and pops selections, including Sousa’s Washington Post March, Johann Strauss Sr.‘s Radetzky March, and a medley of classic Broadway favorites. Additionally the orchestra will perform a full-length version of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony (the Pastoral) that has been adapted for performance by orchestra and jazz ensemble. Guest performers on the symphony are the members of the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, a jazz quartet that has performed for audiences throughout the United States and in Europe. For further information about the concert, please visit the OCO website at www.okorchestra.org, call 405-425-1990, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Admission is $10 at the door for adults and $8 if purchased online. OC students, faculty, and staff are admitted free of charge with their OC ID.
The Oklahoma Community Orchestra is the “orchestra-in-residence” at Oklahoma Christian University. Several OC students, alumni, and faculty perform in the orchestra. Support for this performance has been provided, in part, by the Oklahoma Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
