Oklahoma Christian University’s 37th annual “Cocoa and Carols” will be Thursday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. in Hardeman Auditorium, located in the Garvey Center on the OC campus.
A wide variety of holiday selections will be performed by students and faculty of the university’s music department. The program will begin with the traditional processional, “Personent Hodie,” followed by the performance of a set of favorite Christmas carols and the “Pater Noster” by Giuseppe Verdi. These selections will be presented by the University Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Chamber Orchestra. Conducting the works will be Dr. Kyle Pullen, Professor of Music, and Dr. Kathy Thompson, Professor of Music.
Complimentary hot cocoa and cider will be served during intermission in the Conservatory, with seasonal music provided by the University Chamber Orchestra.
Following intermission and refreshments, the program will continue with a mix of favorite Christmas selections performed by the Oklahoma Christian University Chorale, Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and special guests. These selections will include yuletide favorites such as “Winter Wonderland,” “I Wonder as I Wander,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “White Christmas.”
