Friends
This weekend was the weekend of fall visit for highschoolers to come check out oc.
Some of my friends from my youth group back in Broken Arrow stayed in theChase’s room. I really missed those guys, so it was nice to see them again. I wish that all of them could have stayed in our room, but we could only fit three in here. Most of them will be coming here if all goes well. One of them is pretty set on Harding though. Not that i have anything against Harding its a great place for him to go, however, I will miss him a lot.
To anyone who wants to stay here any other time than when we have company, I give you our couch to sleep on. It’s quite comfortable if you ask me.

The Haunted House
Monday, we all know what its like. This one not being as bad as some have been before. My classes went well and track wasn’t a killer. The only thing close to a downer was when I found out that i have a test tomorow in perspectives in fine arts. I’m not too scared though, they have an especially good outline over the material on blacboard. So, just wish me luck.

We went to View63, now don’t get me wrong I really enjoy this event, but Enterprise Square kindof creeps me out. I guess I just never saw it at its prime. To someone who doesn’t know any better they might think it was a haunted house of some sort. Am I the only one who thinks that this could be a possibility?
Stay classy my dear friends.

Live strong, Work Hard
When you see what you want you just have to go for it.
Jason Korner, a simple fails man, has a routine he has been doing since the beginning of school. He goes to school and does everything that is needed there. He is involved in almost every after school activity including softball and pretty much all rush events.
But after working hard
all day long he always seems to make time for his nightly workout. When it comes to working out no one knows the body better than this man right here. Of course I’m just saying this cause I can’t think of that many people right now, but still.
Everything this kid does is too its fullest. I wish I had the tenacity and perserverance that Jason does. For me, whenever I workout with him I just feel like a puny piece of nothing in comparison even though I tower over the short guy. Once Jason sets his mind to something it happens. We could all learn a little something from him. Jason I salute you.

Sideline…Safest position in football
I love OC football, but it really hurts when you get hit by someone like Warlick’s RA Chuck. So sometimes you need to play it safe and go for the position left out or bench warmer. Boring? Not really. You get used to it. Me myself…I’m a pansy- but hey, what’s wrong with keeping all your teeth? I mean, first play of the game there were two injuries, a maybe broken collarbone, and a sliced tongue. But don’t get me wrong. I did play but only offense.

Just look at me. I’m not fit. Anyway, even if you don’t want to play, you should still go out and watch anything and everything and support the school. Just because I haven’t been to anything doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. I mean, now that I’m a blogger for the school I might, think about, wondering if I should go or not.
In any case I hope that if I do go out there I see you. Oh, and by the way, the game was tied between Warlick and Fails on behalf of I said so.
Thats the way the cookie crumbles

Evans has it all!
I woke up feeling a little groggy thinking that a nice shower could ease me into my day, but to my surprise and mental awakening with a blast of cold water I became aware of our shortage of a hot water tank for this morning. Not fully sure what was going on I strolled with my usual morning stumble to the bathrooms on the other end of my dorm. This isn’t exactly how i wanted to start my day. Other than the wave of breathtaking coldness today went pretty great until track. I think that our coach might have something against eighthundred runners. We always have a harder and longer workout than the other tracksters.
<

Do any of you know Evans? What, you dont? Thats horrible, you should meet him, he is one of the funniest people I know. Sixty percent of the time he is funnier than anyone, Everytime! Evans has it all.

Let there be food. Wow, for the first week or so everything tasted great. Then, like my shocking shower experience this morning, it hits you, the food isn’t that great. For some reason I resort to pizza as my last option. Not that it is good, it is just more consistent. At least you know ahead of time what your disapointments will be.
Maybe a nap will ease all of my pains. I hear that sleep is supposed to be good for you or something.
So long suckers!

Litter much?
Nothing better than waffles for breakfast! But theres nothing worse than just two minutes to enjoy it in. If I dont have something to eat in the mornings though, I can’t focus much on doing work.

Just because there are construction workers trashing our scenery here at OC for a while people think they can just throw down their trash wherever they please. We do have trashcans around here. Ok, you can find these in almost every building and there are usually more than one. The process is pretty simple. All you have to do is throw the trash in the hole on the top. This may take more than one try if you are as good at basketball as me. Whether you get it on your first try or not, as long as you complete the task you are a winner in my book.
Until next time.

Potential Glue
Today was the day we had to do our service project for freshmen seminar. Our instructor for this class, Dr. Hebbard, “allowed” us to go and work at his house. Driving out there through the gravel road I hadn’t expected there to be a ranch full of horses. He may have warned us at some point during his class but I was often focused on other things. What, you think I can’t focus on the inside of my eyelids while I am sleeping?
One of my fellow freshmen who was forced to fork up some effort on this fine fall day found himself flirting with a few of these fast feild frolickers. Personally I wouldn’t get as close to the horses as he did.
Though they aren’t as smart as humans and can’t quite perceive being caged in as easily as we do, I somewhat feel sorry for how many of these beautiful beasts are kept in such close quarters.
Happy horse hunting

Study?
This morning I woke up to rain. With all the digging that they are doing mixed with the rain makes for a lot of mud around my dorm right now. So, on the way to breakfast this morning I was crossing the red sea of mud when i noticed that my shoes were getting heavier. With every step I took I was picking up about a quarter inch of mud onto the bottom of my shoe. Not being able to get it all off I accidentally drug some mud into one of my bible classes. Then, for my second bible class of the day I had a test, that until the last minute i hadn’t done much studying for. But thanks to some last minute cramming and a sister with a good studyguide I’m feeling pretty good about the test.
This kid knows how to study into the night. This shows Jarred studying the night away. Something that tends to happen often the night before a big test for many students. Not me of course for I am always well prepared far in advance for all of my classes. Well… Maybe.
P.S. thank you Nana for the treats.
And to all a goodnight

Charlie!
The OC has performed their own version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With my sister, Samantha Estes, being a very active member of the drama department I got to see it twice. Though being somewhat child oriented, it was entertaining enough to keep me awake for two showings. Joshua Burgin did a superb job of portraying Wonka, he was very energetic with an upbeat atiitude in the play. Also, the puppets were a suprising addition to the story. They were not something I had expected, but they were a great proxy for real Oompa-Loompas.
<-Josh in his Wonka pose.
Finally friday! I hope that everyone gets to take a break from life this weekend, I know thats what I am shooting for. I have found so many things to do here at OC that there is rarely a boring moment, which I like, but cutting loose for a few days to restore health is great too.

Mud
A usual one hour drive that took two hours tonight led me through the rain to a school surounded by mud. Somehow, I knew that mixing rain, piles of mud, and college freshmen wouldn’t be a good thing. First, they decide to play tackle football at night in the rain. Then, they trek through mud that swallows your feet back to the dorms. Finally, they coat the halls and bathrooms with Oklahoma red dirt.

Due to nothing but relaxing all weekend, I still have a few papers to write. So, with no further procrastination, I bid you goodnight.

The 3 Day Weekend Extravaganza
3 day weekend. I couldn’t believe it. I didnt have a class last friday so I just decided to go see the most beautiful girl in the world, my girlfriend.
Of course a lot of the guys call her my wife seeing that our relationship is so strong. Since I went down there this weekend I decided to strengthen my relationship with the parental units if you know what I mean. So the weekend was just a blast…then I got back and the joy of everything good left me so that the crippling reality of homework came back to my attention. And if you can’t tell from the next picture I have been a little bored. But hey I think it at least kind of looks cool.
Another good thing about this weekend was the awesomeness of the Presidential Debate and watching Bush shove everything down Kerry’s throat. I got a giggle or two from it.
I Love John Kerry as much as I love water…........in my lungs

Fall Vizzy to the Hizzy
This is kind of a late entry for this subject but back at fall visit, which is a nice showing of the school to high school seniors. The prospective students went on a scavenger hunt. I really don’t get the point of it but it was still pretty cool in that I got to take a lot of pictures. I mean they didn’t really get anything but what they were looking for was us cameramen. That must have been just exhilarating. But there was one picture I took that captured the grandeur of the moment and it was with Mr. Bill.
Come on just look how cool this guy is. Hes got an awesome garb going on - I think its some sort of retro Gypsy meets my grandmas muumuu. But he really was quite interesting. We had a nice discussion over religion and life. He even said he wanted to be a musician when he grew up, but I’m not sure exactly what he meant by that comment since he was like 45 already. It’s a beautiful night

I was just listening to the radio when I heard the song It’s a beautiful night. You know, that band that has the leadsinger of the toadies and… other people too. Anyway I was just looking out the window noticing how true it really was. because it was such a beautiful night I decided to go for a little jog with my good friend Jason Korner. Surprisingly to me I ran about two miles. Of course afterwards I felt like I was gonna die but still, the point was that I did it. Freshman fifteen’s not gonna take over my life no sir. Lucky for me the wind was in my face the whole time.
Stay classy OC!

Lowes Liars
I couldn’t believe it yesterday I went into Lowe’s looking for a job and they wouldn’t even talk to me. I had to try and work my way into a conversation with the Manager.

Then once I actually was able to talk to him I was told to come back the next day and talk to “Pam” whoever that is. So a day goes by and I am finally able to go back up there…but for what? Pam wasn’t there like they said she would be. In other words I was told by the Lowe’s manager “Hey your a poor college kid why don’t you drive up here and waste your gas for nothing.” If you can’t tell I’m a little peturbed about the whole situation. Tomorrow I am gonna go back up there and give them a piece of my mind.
To be continued
