Oklahoma Christian announced today the election of a successful businessman, an attorney and a college president to its Board of Trustees.

The new trustees are: Kerry Barnes, Vancouver, Wash.; Michelle Stephens, Weatherford, Okla.; and Ron Wright, Cincinnati, Ohio. The additions bring OC’s Board of Trustees membership to 29, plus 13 “Life Trustees.”

Barnes, an OC alumnus, is director of retail stores for Adidas America in Portland, Oregon. Barnes previously spent 32 years with the Kinney Shoe Corporation and Footlocker, serving as west coast regional vice president and managing 300 stores with an annual volume of $300 million. The Dallas, Texas, native also serves on the Board of Governors for Cascade College, OC’s branch campus in Portland.

She served under attorneys general Susan Loving and Drew Edmondson, acting as legal counsel for various state boards and commissions, including the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. She then worked for the Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture, founding and directing its Public Policy and Rural Development Program.

Wright, an OC alumnus, has been the president of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College since 1997, presiding over a rise in degree programs from 48 to 72, a rise in enrollment from 6,119 to 8,500 students, and substantial increases in fundraising and grants.
