Eagles surrender loss to Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. (March 2, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian baseball team fell two runs to ten against NCAA division I Oklahoma State University on Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams played through a scoreless first inning and the Eagles a scoreless second. In the bottom of the second, the Cowboys got on the board with three runs to take the lead.

The third inning again saw no scores from either team as both earned a quick three outs. In the top of the fourth, the Eagles’ Jordan Price hit a double to center field and was batted in when Dustin Andrews hit a double of his own.

Heading into the fifth inning the Eagles trailed 3-1 and found themselves unable to score after three quick outs. OSU registered one run in the fifth and another in the sixth after another scoreless inning from the Eagles.

After two more runs from the Cowboys in the seventh, the Eagles did not find themselves scoring again until the eighth inning when Andrews made it home from first base on a Zac Coshow double.

The OSU squad picked up another three runs in the bottom of the eighth to lead the Eagles 10-2 at the top of the ninth inning. When the Eagles were unable to score, the deal was sealed for the Cowboys who registered a 10-2 victory.

Andrews led the Eagles at the plate hitting three for four and tallying one run and a RBI. Jordan Price and Jeff Davis each went two for four while Price scored for the Eagles.

Kennedy Winn spent 5.2 innings on the mound throwing three strikeouts and allowing five runs.

The Eagles will host Saint Gregory’s University (Okla.) at home on Thursday for their next match. The game will begin at 5 p.m.
