Eagles suffer 1st loss of season, falling 2-0 to Texas-Brownsville

HOUSTON (Sept. 17, 2011) – Oklahoma Christian’s unbeaten run to start the 2011 season has ended.

The Eagles struggled offensively and lost 2-0 to Texas-Brownsville on Saturday in a game hosted by Saint Thomas (Texas). Oklahoma Christian (3-1-1) will take on the host team Sunday afternoon.

Statistics from Saturday’s game weren’t immediately available. OC head coach David Scott said the Eagles made two big mistakes “and teams of this caliber will punish us for them.

“Overall we didn’t play as well as we are capable,” he said. “We came out flat at the start and took a while to get going.”

Texas-Brownsville improved to 2-3-1.
