Eagles at a two stroke deficit

SILVIS, Ill (May 20, 2010) – The Oklahoma Christian golf team fell one more spot to a two way tie for third place at the NAIA national tournament at TPC at Deere Run on Thursday.

Despite dropping to third place, the Eagles remain only two strokes behind leaders Oklahoma City University and Malone University (Ohio) who are tied for the lead at 896. The Eagles are at 898 strokes after three rounds, holding within striking distance heading into the fourth and final round.

The OC squad managed a 306 round score while playing through rainy conditions.

Oscar Stark led the Eagles during round three with a 75 and currently leads the Eagles overall with a 221 leaving him tied for ninth place individually.

Vilhelm Bogstrand tallied the next best score for the Eagles on Thursday with a 76 while Axel Ochoa and Logan Herbst were right behind with a 77 and 78, respectively. The fifth man for the Eagles was Preston Wilkins with an 81 round score.

Ochoa still remains near the leaders with a 222 after three rounds to leave him tied for 12th place overall.

The Eagles will finish out the final round on Friday as they vie for top spot among several other teams within striking distance.
