Basketball players named All-Conference

Basketball players named All-Conference

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (March 2, 2010) – Seven Oklahoma Christian basketball players, three men and four women, earned All-Conference honors for the 2009-2010 regular season.

On the women’s team, Lisa Chenoweth and Kailan DeCamp both earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference Third-Team honors while teammates Brittney Kennedy and Lindsay McCown earned All-SAC Honorable Mention.

Chenoweth helped lead the Eagles averaging 9.2 points per game and shooting 39 percent from behind the arc. DeCamp scored 9.4 points per game and also passed out 4 assists per game. Kennedy averaged 10.1 points and 3.7 rebounds for the season while McCown led the Lady Eagles with 10.2 points per game and grabbing an average of 6.2 rebounds.

Jason Taylor earned the All-SAC Sportsmanship Award in addition to being named a member of the All-SAC First-Team. Jeff Crocker earned All-SAC Second-Team honors and Andre Vaughn earned All-SAC Honorable Mention.

Taylor led the Eagles with 19.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and shot 81 percent from the free throw line. Crocker averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 assists per game. Vaughn assisted the Eagles as he scored 8.8 points per game and pulled down 3.7 rebounds.

In addition to the All-SAC honors, five women and five men received Academic All-SAC honors. Junior status and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 must be achieved in order to receive the award.

Cressi Bryant, Lisa Chenoweth, Kailan DeCamp, Barrie Jo Mitchell, and Devin Sewell all earned the honor for the women.

On the men’s team, Jeff Crocker, Michael Hill, Jon Jonsson, Jason Taylor, and Andre Vaughn all received Academic All-SAC honors.
