Chelsea Woods had one of OC’s two shots in a 4-0 loss to Southern Nazarene.
OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 1, 2011) – Southern Nazarene star Jackie Acevedo had a hat trick and assisted on another goal, leading the Crimson Storm to a 4-0 win on Saturday over Oklahoma Christian.
In the latest renewal of a long rivalry, Oklahoma Christian (3-6, 0-2 Sooner Athletic Conference) held its own with SNU (7-2, 2-0) for the first 29 minutes before Acevedo fed Sherri Collins, whose shot from 12 yards out beat OC goalkeeper Kaitlyn Whitten.
Acevedo, who had four goals earlier this week in a win over Northwestern Oklahoma State, posted another hat trick against the Lady Eagles during a 13-minute span in the second half. Collins, Mia Vabolis and Kayla Thompson had the assists on the three goals, the last of which came at the 61:40 mark.
Oklahoma Christian couldn’t generate much offense, managing only two shots – by Hope Heinen and Chelsea Woods – to SNU’s 12. The Lady Eagles didn’t take a corner kick.
Whitten made three saves in the first half before giving way to Chelsie Flagg, who didn’t record any saves.
OC will host SAC rival Mid-America Christian on Tuesday.
